10 Workout Essentials You Need in Your Gym Bag

Whenever you’re just starting to work out, or you’ve been doing it for a while, there are some fundamental workout essentials you need in your gym bag.

workout essentials

Let’s talk about the must-haves, the accessories which will uplevel your workout, and the ones you are glad that you got.

Let’s start with the elephant in the room: a spacious and comfortable gym bag.

The perfect gym bag has enough space for all your accessories. It is stylish and doesn’t look like a suitcase. Make sure you choose a gym bag that fits your needs.

Those are my top 2 gym bag options.

Your gym bag should hold everything you might need throughout your workout. It can be a water bottle, resistance bands, workout straps, etc.

Grabbing everything you need puts you in a great place to have a successful and sweaty workout.

Now let’s move on to the workout essentials you MUST have in your gym bag.

Water bottle.

Water intake should be one of your priority wellness goals. Drinking enough water is a crucial part of a balanced and healthy lifestyle.

It is even more vital when you work out. When you’re hydrated, you perform the exercises better. And most importantly, you feel better.

Get a nice bottle that will make you want to carry it around and drink more water. A convenient option is one you can track your daily intake.

Jacket/ Hoodie

After a sweaty workout, it’s much easier to get a cold. Make sure you have a warm jacket or hoodie to put on when you leave the gym.

Also, when you cool down and do some stretches at the end of your workout, you might find your body is relaxed. Put on something on top of your sports bra to keep you warm.

My favorite hoodies are from the brand Oner Active. Many sizes are not available, but there are restocks now and then, so keep an eye on them.

There are great jacket options and Lululemon dupes on Amazon. My favorite ones are CRZ Yoga and Queenieke. They are so comfortable and such high quality.

Headphones

I cannot perform a fire workout without my headphones. A good playlist is sometimes all you need for a sweaty session.

The Jabra ones are the headphones I’ve been using for the past two years. I cannot recommend them more. The battery is phenomenal, the sound is impressive, and they look beautiful.

The AirPods are a convenient option you can sometime prefer because of the size.

Check out some more headphone options and find the type that best suits you.

Then it's time for the workout essentials that will bring your workouts to the next level.

You can have a good workout even without the following accessories.

But are you aiming for good or for exceptional?

Glute bands

When you want to grow your glutes, glute bands become your best friend. There are two types of bands - fabric and loop.

In my opinion, it’s much more challenging to perform an exercise with the fabric ones.

A great and affordable option is Peach glute bands. You can get a set of 3 for less than $20. You get three different resistance levels to meet your needs for every exercise or level.

Workout belt

If you’re lifting heavy and always try to increase your weights, a workout belt supports and helps you reach your goals safely.

Gloves

Every woman deserves to have beautiful and gentle hands. Sometimes lifting heavy can make your hands rude/ ugly.

When you shop for gloves, look for a pair with some wrist support. This way, it will be easier for you to lift heavy.

Fitness/ Weight loss journal

A fitness planner can help you keep track of your progress and your goals. But how it motivates you, and what to track to succeed?

This is my favorite fitness and wellness journal.

You can track everything you need, keep yourself accountable, and celebrate your results.

Workout essentials you will be happy you got

You know the must-have essentials, the ones that will make your workout go smooth and safe.

Let’s look at some other workout essentials which you will be happy you got.

Barbell pad

The gym I recently started training at has almost no barbell pads. And the available ones are doing nothing to protect your body from the heavy barbell.

That’s why it’s always a good idea to have a barbell pad with you.

It makes you sure you will do your exercises safely. Also, it’s nice to use your accessories no one else has sweated on.

Mat

If you perform lots of exercises on a mat, it’s great to carry your own. Many gym mats are cheap and don’t provide you with the balance and stability you need.

Having your own provides you with the certainty to perform all your exercises safely, with the correct form.

The one you didn’t expected: Kindle

If you have a gym buddy, you might often wait for him/ her. Instead of scrolling through your Instagram, make those 10 minutes meaningful.

Carrying a Kindle everywhere with you improves your chances to read more. Also, the Kindle is so light you won’t even feel it in your bag. And did I mention you can have over 1000 books on it?
